Missouri Honey Queen
The role of the Honey Queen is to represent the Missouri State Beekeepers Association and beekeeping in Missouri. The Honey Queen will be present at the Missouri State Fair, various MSBA functions, MSBA membership conferences, and travel to other local associations throughout the state.
Our 2014 MSBA Honey Queen …
Lauren Rhae Collins is the daughter of Steven and Karen Collins, of Kingsville, MO. Lauren is a homeschool graduate, and is now pursuing her Bachelor’s degree in English. She got her start in beekeeping in 2012 through the Midwestern Beekeepers youth scholarship program. Lauren is the leader of a young ladies’ discipleship group, called Bright Lights, and is very involved with her church. In her spare time, she enjoys playing the piano, reading, and adventuring in the outdoors. Lauren is excited to be the 2014 Missouri State Honey Queen, and is looking forward to representing the honeybee, and its steward, the bee-keeper.
Our 2015 MSBA Honey Queen …
Erin Colleen Mullins is the daughter of Patrick and Annette Mullins of Skidmore, Missouri where she lives on the family farm. She graduated from West Nodaway High School in 2012 and currently enrolled in the LPN program through North Central Missouri College. She was a past member of 4H , FFA, NHS, NHTS, and Student Council. She is an active member of the Wilcox United Methodist Church in Wilcox, Missouri. She is currently a member of the Northwest Missouri Beebusters. She has kept bees for the past 5 years and is operating 2 hives. Last year Erin had the opportunity to serve as the 2014 Missouri Honey Princess where she traveled all over the state of Missouri promoting honey and bees. Erin looks forward to serving the Missouri State Beekeepers Association for another year and promoting beekeeping and honey across Missouri.
